Online shopping for Blenders

I bought this blender to replace my 30 year old 2-speed Oster workhorse. It still works but didnt make good smoothies. I had the Waring about a month and the spinning disc in the base (that moves the blade in the container) came loose. I have tried to screw it back down and it just wont go. Doesnt look like the threads are stripped. I have no idea what is going on with this thing. Sounds like other buyers have had blade issues of one type or another.

After doing a poor research, I bought a cuisinart blender 4 months ago or so. It was not a cheap one, since I paid for it $110. However, it completely died after two months of a decent use. The plastic jar is light and easy to handle. Yes, you have to put your hand on top of it to hold it, and so what? That will be only for a few seconds because this is a commercial machine that works fast. I do not see any problems with the lid, it is flexible and fits. In conclusion: if you are looking for a blender to be used just once in a while with some soft ingredients, buy anyone. There are plenty of them. But, if you are a serious, I mean, a heavy blender user (like I am), do not hesitate: buy this one. The replacement jar is just what I wanted to replace the round one on my Oster (smoothies seem to mix better in square jar), but it did not come with a lid.....so I have to go find that and wait another 5 days. This stick blender is more powerful than the ordinary Cuisinart (400W vs. 100 or 200W). Numerous attachments allow for many different uses. HOWEVER, the attachment piece is made of plastic. Within 45 days, the plastic piece broke rendering the entire unit useless. I have since exchanged the item and just used it for the first time. Crossing my fingers that this lasts more than 45 days.
