As a fan of Consumer Reports, I had seen the Vitamix as their top rated blender, but could not swallow the high price tag. With that in mind, i bought the highest rated blender that was under $100. After having two different blenders die in the last 18 months, I decided to try the Vitamix with its 7 year warranty. I bought the machine based on expectations of improved durability; but I am amazed at the difference in performance. The ability to blend drinks made with large amounts of ice cubes to such a smooth consistancy is incredible. Very easy to clean and not too noisy. Nice to know that it is made in the USA too. The one word of caution is that it is large (taller than most blenders), so if you leave it on the counter (like I do), you need counterspace; it may not fit in the area under your cabinets.Get more detail about Vita-Mix 1320 Professional Series, Platinum.
