The first thing I noticed was the incredibly loud noise of this blender. All blenders are somewhat noisy, but this one should be sold with ear plugs. It worked ok to make hummus and basic fruit smoothies, but the blade assembly started leaking after a couple of months of use. Small rubber gaskets in the assembly do not maintain a tight fit, and there is no way to fix this problem. Plus, not all parts of the blade assembly are rust-proof, and the design allows dirt to collect under the gaskets. This gunk is impossible to clean out fully. (The blade assembly cannot be taken apart for cleaning without breaking it.) The loud noise of the motor and poorly designed blade assembly result in a sub-standard product that may be ok if you only need to use it every once in a while, but if you plan to use it everyday, as I have used mine, you will be disappointed. You do not need to spend hundreds of dollars to get a good basic blender (although in my experience, nothing beats Vita-Mix for every-day use), but Kalorik does not qualify as a good-enough value even for its relatively low price.Get more detail about Kalorik BL-16909 500-Watt 2-Speed Countertop Blender with 48-Ounce Glass Jar, Brushed Stainless Steel.
