With standard economical blenders, food oftentimes gets stuck and a stirring device would be needed to get the mixture to liquify. With the Breville, in making smoothies of any kind, i have no problems getting the liquefaction process started. However, to make sure all piece have been chopped finely, it's best to start with the "smoothie" setting, then push "liquify". The nice part is the unit will stop itself, therefore giving me consistent results. The power button assures me that the blade won't accidentally start spinning when i plug it in. It's the best blender i have ever owned.
